In smart lock products, there is a "state of opening and closing" which indicates whether the door is closed or not. In the app, this is generally shown as an icon and text saying "Door Open/Door Closed." This feature relies on the sensor equipped in the lock hardware. Some locks use an electronic lock body with a monitoring function for the door's state of opening and closing, or they may have a door magnet function. In such cases, you can see this status in the app and there may be additional features like "timeout reminder for unclosed door" and "door ajar reminder."
If the app can display the door's open/close status but lacks reminders, you can create automation scenes in the app. One of the pathways is: when the device state changes (door lock) - alarm - timeout unclosed door - send notification reminder - message center. This allows for app notifications about doors being left unclosed.
If the lock hardware does not have a sensor to detect if the door is closed, the related status cannot be viewed in the app. In such cases, it is recommended to develop a habit of lifting the door handle from the outside before leaving.
