The cost of obtaining BQB certification for a product includes: membership fee+ID certificate fee+testing fee.
1. Membership fee. Annual membership: If the annual income is less than 1 million US dollars, the annual fee for the enterprise is 10350 US dollars; Regular member: No annual fee paid
2. DID certificate fee. Annual membership fee of $5520 per DID; Regular members charge $11040 per DID.
3. Testing fees.
The BQB testing of Bluetooth modules/finished products generally includes three parts: Profile (functional layer), Protocol (protocol layer), and RF (physical radio frequency layer). Profile (functional layer) and Protocol (protocol layer) testing usually refer to the original chip manufacturer's certificate, while modules and finished products need to undergo RF testing. RF physical testing fee: General 4.2 version testing fee: 10000 RMB; Testing fee for versions 4.2 and above: 15000 RMB.
Scenario 1: The customer's finished product uses the Graffiti BQB certified Bluetooth module. Customers pay membership fees+ID certificate fees to obtain authentication.
The customer will list the terminal product model based on the graffiti BQB certificate in their BQB application account, and there will be no charge for listing. But listing requires a DID number (which can be understood as a certificate number), and the DID number needs to be purchased first. If the DID certificate numbers of the Bluetooth modules used in different finished product models are the same, they can also be listed on one DID certificate.
Scenario 2: To use the Bluetooth chip onboard solution, you need to pay: membership fee+ID certificate fee+RF testing fee.
In this case, the entire motherboard/product can only apply for BQB, usually only RF testing is required. The finished product customer can apply for BQB themselves. If the customer uses the same motherboard for multiple products, it can be included in the customer's DID certificate.
Reminder: According to the requirements of the Bluetooth Alliance, as long as the product has Bluetooth technology, the brand should obtain BQB certification and have their own DID certificate. If there are Bluetooth related words and logos on the product, it will be easily detected by customs or Bluetooth Alliance inspections.
