What is the German GS certification?

Last Updated on2024-12-10 07:50:46
Germany's GS certification (Geprüfte Sicherheit, meaning "Tested Safety") is a voluntary certification mark that represents products meeting German and European safety requirements. The GS certification is based on the German Product Safety Act (ProdSG) and is conducted by independent institutions authorized by Germany to test and certify products to ensure they meet relevant European or international safety standards. The testing generally includes safety and environmental tests. Common certification bodies include: TUV Rheinland, TUV SUD, BV, SGS, Internet, etc. GS certification usually involves a factory audit to ensure product consistency.
