What is the combo module solution?

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo technology is a solution that combines both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless communication technologies. It enables simultaneous support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communication within the same chip, thereby enhancing the multifunctionality and connectivity of devices.

Combo module can be resolved into dual communication protocols. At present, Tuya's main application is Wi-Fi+Bluetooth LE dual-protocol device. It can be interpreted as a communication protocol as a language. All Mandarin-speaking devices can communicate with each other, but it is difficult to communicate with English-speaking devices. Unless there is a device that can speak both Mandarin and English, it is what we call a dual-protocol device (combo device).

According to the application requirements on the market, there are currently many devices that can be integrated by a single chip. Protocol IoT solutions mainly include: Zigbee+Bluetooth+Wi-Fi, NB-IoT+Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi+Bluetooth LE, UWB+Bluetooth, etc. This type of chip that can integrate multiple communication protocols is also called "Comb Chip".
