What are the device binding types?

Last Updated on2025-02-27 08:06:36
Strong binding: A device needs to be removed from the app by the previous user to whose account the device is bound before it can be paired with the network and bound to another account.
Medium binding: A device can be paired with the network and bound to another account without the need to be removed from the app by the previous user. However, a device binding notification will be pushed to the administrator of the family or default group to which the previous user belongs.
Weak binding: A device can be paired with the network and bound to another account without the need to be removed from the app by the previous user.
By default, the device binding is of the strong binding type and cannot be changed because the IPC audio and video transmission is concerned with privacy. However, you can submit a ticket for changing the device binding type to the Tuya Developer platform if you have a strong will to change the binding type and have evaluated the impact of the change to other modes.
