What is Pops certification?

Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Testing. The control of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) is increasingly being emphasized. Internationally, the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, a global treaty, was adopted on May 22, 2001, aiming to protect human health and the environment from the hazards of persistent organic pollutants. The European Union is a party to the convention and is obligated to comply with its provisions. Based on this requirement, the EU issued the POPs Regulation (EC) 850/2004, and on June 25, 2019, released the new POPs Regulation (EU) 2019/1021, which came into effect on July 15, 2019. The main substances controlled include: Tetrabromodiphenyl ether, Pentabromodiphenyl ether, Hexabromodiphenyl ether, Heptabromodiphenyl ether, Decabromodiphenyl ether, Perfluorooctane sulfonic acid and its derivatives (PFOS), Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and its salts and related substances, Perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS) and its salts and related substances, Short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCP), Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD), Hexachlorobenzene, Pentachlorobenzene, Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), Polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCNs), Hexabromobiphenyl, Hexachlorobutadiene, Chlordane, Endosulfan, Hexachlorocyclohexane (including Lindane), Heptachlor, DDT, Aldrin, Dieldrin, Endrin, Toxaphene, Mirex, Chlordecone, Pentachlorophenol and its salts and esters, Trichlorfon, Methoxychlor, etc.
