When a product is set up to be sold through a subscription, the subscription price can be managed dynamically using either automatic or manual modes. Merchants have the option to adjust subscription prices manually.
Additionally, it's essential to promptly maintain subscription prices in multiple currencies to facilitate synchronization with third-party payment channels and the system.
Subscription Price
When a product has the subscription option enabled, and a subscription plan is created, each variant needs to be configured with a subscription plan.
Automatic Mode
Subscription prices are calculated based on the product's price and the discounts specified in the plan. Different plan types result in different subscription prices.
Plan Type: Pay As You Go (Automatic Renewal)
| Product price | Discount in Plan | Subscription price |
---|
Sale price | 100 | 20% | 100 x (1-0.2) |
Original price | 200 |
|
|
Plan Type: Prepaid (Automatic Renewal)
| Product price | Prepaid billing | Discount in Plan | Subscription price |
---|
Sale price | 100 | 3 x | 20% | 100 x 3 x (1-0.2) |
Original price | 200 |

In Automatic Mode, subscription prices will automatically change in sync with any modifications to the product's price.
Fixed mode
Merchants can manually modify subscription prices. Once modified, subscription prices will no longer automatically adjust with changes in the product's price.
The discount information specified in the plan will also become inactive.
Merchants can choose to reset back to Automatic Mode.
Plan Type: Pay As You Go (Automatic Renewal)
| Product price | Subscription price |
---|
Sale price | 100 | 79.99 |
Original price | 200 |
|
Plan Type: Prepaid (Automatic Renewal)
| Product price | Prepaid billing | Subscription price |
---|
Sale price | 100 | 3 x | 239.99 |
Original price | 200 |

Multi-Currency Subscription Pricing
When a store adds new currencies, the merchant, when creating a subscription product, can synchronize multi-currency prices. These prices are calculated based on the subscription price and exchange rates. Merchants can also manually modify the multi-currency prices.
Steps:
1. Below the "Variants & Plans" section, find the subscription price you want to edit and click the "Currency" button on the right.
2. In the editing pop-up, manually adjust the prices, click "Confirm" to complete the adjustment.
3. After closing the pop-up, on the product plans page, click the "Save" button.
If the subscription product was created before the new currency was added, merchants need to revisit the product plans and edit them again to generate new multi-currency prices.
Subscription Price Changes
When the subscription price of a product changes, the multi-currency prices for the subscription will be recalculated based on the exchange rates and the new subscription price.
This recalculation occurs regardless of whether the multi-currency prices were manually modified previously.
Subscription prices typically change under the following circumstances:
1. In automatic mode, the merchant modifies the product's price or the plan.
2. The merchant manually adjusts the subscription price.
